Biography

Dr. Gregg S. Govett earned his medical degree from Texas Tech University School of Medicine and completed a residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the Tulane University School of Medicine. He became certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology in 1993 and completed training in otolaryngic allergy from the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy in 1998. He became a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy in 1998. He served for three years in the United States Air Force as a medical office with the 357th Medical Group at Scott AFB, IL. As an otolaryngologist, Dr. Govett was intimately involved with environmental factors creating diseases in the head and neck region. His training in otolaryngic allergy led him to further educate himself in environmental medicine. He took the instructional courses from the American Academy of Environmental Medicine and became certified by the American Board of Environmental Medicine in 2012. From his training in environmental medicine, Dr. Govett was educated that mold can lead to chronic inflammation from the secretion of mycotoxins. This can result in a myriad of symptoms and disease states. He uses the techniques to manage mycotoxin patients taught by the American Academy of Environmental Medicine emphasizing treatment of the neurologic, endocrine, and immune systems in the body.
